Look to the Lord for His Strength
God, help me to see my life as you see it.
Are You Searching?
Are you continually searching for God and looking to Him for strength but regress in fear when He comes near?
God created us out of His love and He wants us to reach out to Him and allow Him to love us. He always stands in a position of grace waiting for us to come to Him as He woos us. As in the Prodigal story (Luke 15:11-32) the father saw his son far away in the distance and he began to run to him. He was anxious to see his son and welcome him home. God only needs to see you coming as you call upon Him and He runs to meet you where you are just as you are.
Look to God for his strength; seek his face always. I Chronicles 16:11
Trusting God has been a journey for me. I wanted to trust Him but was fearful and afraid to let go. If I did not try to control the situation or figure the problem out for myself what would happen? A lesson I have learned is that I have no control and that He will not do for me what I am too fearful or proud to let Him do. Needless to say, it has been a humbling process.
But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” Psalm 31:14
The End of Ourselves
When we come to the end of ourselves and there are no more answers or solutions where do we turn? We turn to all we have and that is God. The result is the realization that we have no control. The result of my hearing a sermon on this Bible verse from my pastor brought truth home to me. As I listened I realized that all the pain and sorrow, the difficulties, the problems, the times of joy and peace were for a purpose. God was bringing me full circle to the meaning of these verses that I had read numerous times but until that day they had not touched my heart. Acceptance is where I found myself.
All things come from God, through God, and all for his glory. Romans 11:36
Offer All to God
Today I offer all to God, all that I am, all that I will be, and all that I hold in my hands to Him relinquishing control to Him thanking Him for His diligence in pursuing me and His patience in waiting for me to surrender fully to Him. Gratefulness and joy fills my heart today as I accept life is difficult but rest in His love, grace and peace.
God is aware of how our problems originated and He is more concerned with us finding answers to our problems. I believe that the ultimate answer to our problems lie in trusting Him and allowing Him to work within our lives to solve the age old question, “What are you going to do with Me?” Surrender and trust is my answer. Being human and flawed sometimes I have to remind myself that “God’s got this!” Remove my hands and rest in Him.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Walls Surround Us
We begin to allow Him to tear down the walls of fear, self-doubt, and unbelief when we surrender to Him. He heals the pain and sorrow and the broken pieces as He removes the walls we have built-up around us and His grace brings healing. Often we fail to realize the walls of false security that surrounds and blocks us from living in freedom. Remember God has won the battle for our freedom and allow Him to remove the walls blocking His power in our life.
In Zechariah He was the wall of fire around the people and Jerusalem protecting them. He desires to be the wall that surrounds and protects us.
For I, declare the Lord, will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst. Zechariah 2:5
God Calls Us
God is calling each of us to start again from where we are and let Him heal us of the damage and the beating our hearts have endured in the process of life. We become whole when we are reborn in Christ Jesus.
In the darkness we are taught we are not good enough, but God created us out of His love and He calls us to love Him and those around us forgiving those who have inflicted so much pain in our life. Allow God to remove the walls and fill you with His life-giving waters of grace. Allow the waters to wash over you and fill you with His unlimited and unconditional love. The result is hope, joy, peace and forgiveness that flows from God into our life and into the lives of other people. There is a purpose in the difficulties we experience. We cannot give what we do not possess or have not experienced within ourselves. Share your story with others who are struggling and allow them to see the change Christ brings to those who love and worship Him.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. 2 Timothy 1:9
Love encourages us to be the best we can be and to love others for who they are and not who we desire them to be. Let go of the false images you have built into your minds of who or what they are. When we live in God’s grace He looks beyond our faults and our needs and He sees our potential of what we can become when we live a life fully surrendered to Him.
We love because He first loved us. I John 4:19
